My adorable little girl child got a detention.
In fact, she got TWO of them.
They don’t call them detentions anymore. Not on paper anyway.
They are “lunchtime planning sessions in the planning room”
They come up with a plan for better and more complimentary behaviour.
She spat on a kid.
Yes she deserved her detention.
BUT It was retaliatory.
The kid spat in her face, so she spat back at him.
And he didn’t get a detention.
We’ve talked about how in that situation we tell a teacher, we don’t do it back because two wrongs don’t make a right.
But I still think the other kid should have gotten a detention too, especially since he was an older child spitting on a kindy kid!
The other detention?
Well, they’re not allowed to eat on the bus.
It’s against the rules.
There was a high school girl on the bus and she was eating.
Lola told her she’s not allowed to eat on the bus and she kept doing it.
Lola didn’t want to go to the front of the bus to tell the driver because he was driving and it is dangerous to walk around on the bus while it’s driving.
So she sat there and pulled the girl’s hair every time she ate until she stopped.
I wish she was this particular about following the rules when she’s at home.
My little anti hero.
And yes, I did give her consequences. She had to clean the bathroom and the play room for a week.
