So I paid my $2089 joining fee and I joined a cult.
A cult that promises to make my life better. Healthier. Easier.
Yep, I got a thermomix.
Well, I’m waiting for it.
*WHERE IS IT LADY?!*
Today I’m home without the other half because he is in Sydney for work and I’m watching “That Sugar Film”.
It makes me both happy and sad.
Happy because finally someone is addressing the issues of food in modern society and maybe it will help.
There is an actual 60 day timeline showing exactly what it is doing to him, in excess.
People literally die from consuming too much processed foods and mostly, processed sugars.
I’m a little unhappy that they are making sugar the enemy.
Fruit is not the enemy.
Obviously, 10 mangoes a day isn’t a good idea.
But having no fruit? There’s vital goodness in fruit. And vegetables.
It annoys the fuck out of me.
It annoyed me when I had training clients and it annoys me now.
You don’t need some special diet to lose weight.
EAT GODDAMN IT.
Eat REAL food. Shit that grows in the ground and if it is your thing, the animals that eat the things that grow in the ground or swim in the sea as well.
Food that you can smell where it came from.
If you’ve got a farmers market even better!
Go buy it from the farmer. Eat seasonal.
And eat. Enjoy it.
Don’t hold guilt over your food. Don’t sneak it.
If you’re going to have a treat make it amazing. Make it rich, luscious.
Make it so amazing that a few spoonfuls is enough and you don’t have to eat a whole block.
Involve kids in food.
Reteach yourself in how good fresh tastes. Homemade pesto versus store bought.
Make your own hommus. Make chutneys.
ENJOY real food.
That’s the best thing you could ever do.
