Who am I kidding. I rarely blog regularly.
I do, however normally blog more than I have of late.
I do feel like I need to do a bit of an update because we’ve hit that 6 month mark where a certain fog seems to lift. It definitely isn’t because the baby starts to sleep through the night, but maybe because you just get used to the lack of sleep, organisation and all the other things that go out the window the first time you have children.
What I will tell you is that with your third child, you just don’t give a fuck. And I mean that in a good way. Cosleeping? You betcha. Baby is hungry? Here’s a boob. And this is a massive thing, especially when you feel like you missed out with your first two children because you were so concerned about what you should be doing and what they should be doing and all the *shoulds*
It has been pretty trying, I won’t lie. Getting used to babies again is a bit of a change, especially a baby with CMPI (cows milk protein intollerance). It meant I cut out all dairy and soy from my diet. Which has led to me cutting out meat as well because I started cooking vegan as it was the easiest way to know there was no milk and I since realised that I feel a lot better. I’d say as a family we’re probably 80-85% Plant based and personally I’d be closer to 90-95%. Generally I only have chicken if I’m at my parents house and I’m looking to change that as well because like I said, I just feel better without it.
Dexter is in year two and I can’t quite grasp just how quickly he’s becoming a tween. He just astounds me sometimes with how quickly he is growing up.
Lola is totally rocking year 1 and being very “helpful” as her teacher told me. Apparently sometimes she needs to be told that it’s okay, we don’t need help with this one.
They’re both amazing siblings, Lola loves helping change nappies and Dex loves playing with her even though I need to tell both of them to calm down and be gentle sometimes.
Morrigan is freaking cute as a button (are buttons cute?) and starting to eat, shout at me about being hungry, crawl up the stairs, talk (mama, dada, bubba), pull herself up on things and stress me out because we can’t baby proof this house.
I’m aiming to do some posts on cmpi and what I’ve eaten, about Plant based families and about life in general.
Oh! I started going to a playgroup too, because I’m turning 30 this year, I thought I should make some friends to invite to the party!
Last but not least I’m doing uni. K-6 teaching with a science focus. It is nice to be using my brain but hard to fit everything in. It is extremely hard, since Pat has been working away since before Christmas and comes back 2-3 nights a week, mainly to sleep and go again so trying to do it all is a test. A fucking big test. But I’m getting there and it feels like the woods are thinning a bit!
If you’re not a weirdo (or to be honest, even if you are because I’m a bit of one) and you want to hang out, I’m thinking of hosting a meet as a chance to make friends and actually leave the house – let me know what you think!
